Then they ran the backtest, and every one of them hit the same wall. It looks great on one symbol and loses on the next. Change one setting and the whole picture flips. Does this thing actually work?

From idea to a tested edge, in four stages

Each stage has a fixed price, quoted before it starts. Each ends with a decision: go on, rework, or stop.

  1. Stage 1: Requirements: rules a machine can't misread

    We go through your idea with you, using what thousands of coded strategies taught us: entries, exits, sessions, filters, sizing, what counts as a signal and what doesn't. Vague rules are dangerous now. AI fills the gaps with its own decisions, and you won't notice it did.

  2. Stage 2: Code & verify: built fast, checked trade by trade

    Coding is partly automated, so it's quick. Then we verify it: entries, exits, timestamps, session boundaries, stops and targets, all checked against the spec. If the code does something slightly different from the rules, every result after this point is garbage.

  3. Stage 3: Edge Survey: does the idea hold up across markets?

    One good backtest on one symbol proves nothing. We run your strategy across the list of symbols you choose, in one automated pass on AlgoDesk, our own algorithmic trading platform. We're not optimizing yet. We're asking whether the concept has an edge at all.

  4. Stage 4: Walk-forward optimization: does it survive a changing market?

    WFO re-picks the parameters period by period and tests them on data they've never seen. We look for stable parameter regions, not one magic number surrounded by disaster.

    You run it on Sim, or we do it together: live data, real sessions, restarts and order handling, all the things a backtest can't show. Then live, starting small.

Can't I just do this myself with ChatGPT or Claude?

You can get the code. Validation is everything after it: a spec with no gaps, checking the code does what the spec says, testing on many symbols at once, walk-forward runs, and the experience to read the results without fooling yourself. That's what we sell.

What if my strategy has no edge?

The Edge Survey says so and you stop. You've paid for three stages instead of finding out with real money. Or we rework the logic together and survey it again.

I already have code, maybe written by AI. Do we start over?

No. Stage 1 gets shorter because we write the spec from your rules and code. Stage 2 then checks the code really does what the spec says, which AI-written code often doesn't.

Which symbols can you test on?

The ones you'd actually trade. Send the list, and we'll tell you up front if we can't get data for any of them.

Do I get the source code?

Yes. The full NinjaTrader 8 source, yours to keep and change, yourself or with AI.

Is my idea safe with you?

If you want an NDA, we sign it before you share the details.

How is the price set?

A fixed price per stage, quoted before it starts and based on how complex the strategy is. If the requirements change in the middle of a stage, we requote or switch to hourly, agreed with you before we go on.

If it passes the Edge Survey and WFO, will it make money?

Not guaranteed. A pass means the idea held up on historical data, across markets and over time. That's the best evidence a backtest can give, but past results don't promise future ones. That's why Sim and small live size come next.

Do you trade it for me?

No. It runs on your own NinjaTrader and your own account. We can do the Sim stage with you.

Can you check it against prop firm rules?

Yes. We can run the results through our NC Evaluation Validator: trailing and end-of-day drawdown, daily loss limit, consistency.
